As far as postcard perfect it doesn’t get better than Grindelwald. Grindelwald, a village in Switzerland’s Bernese Alps, is a popular gateway for the Jungfrau Region. This village is under the infamous North Face of Eiger, a wall of rock. The Eiger 13,015 ft mountain of the Bernese Alps and overlooks the villages of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. The surroundings are stunning and full of natural beauty and charm. We rented a car after arriving in Geneva and drove through the area. We stopped for lunch at a cliffside restaurant facing the mountain. I recommend a fondue for lunch with melting swiss cheese. A perfect setting.
