Our first stop on our 10 day Safari was Nairobi, Kenya. Having flown 20+ plus hours from Canada via the UK, we were brimming with excitement has we had zero expectations since it was our first time. We were picked up at the airport and driven to our hotel it was supper time when we arrived.
We stayed at the Marriott and it was a real treat. Service was spectacular and so was the food. We had a full day ahead of us and got an early start. The breakfast was an amazing spread of variety of dishes. Finding south Indian breakfast specialty was a real treat. We also ended up meeting Canadian Olympic rower Silken Laumann.

Our travel agent had booked us in at Talisman for lunch. With a Boho vibe and blankets to warm us up, we had an awesome lunch.

The next stop we went to the Kazuri jewelry. Kazuri employs disadvantaged women around Nairobi. Their jewelry was stunning and it was great to learn about their craft. I was delighted to find some safari inspired jewelry.
The last stop, David Sheldrick Elephant orphanage. The trust operates in Nairobi, rescues and rehabilitates orphaned baby elephants. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust operates the most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. We had a chance to see the young ones frolic around and bottle-fed. There are options to sponsor a baby elephant and receive monthly reports on its progress. it was a heart warming visit.
